Nivesh Sahayak Tally ExportFree TallyPrime import file maker

Free Tally import file maker (TallyPrime XML)

Made your bills on Nivesh Sahayak and your accountant works in Tally? Make two files, one with the ledgers and one with the vouchers, and import them in TallyPrime with Alt+O. Sales, purchases, credit and debit notes, receipts and payments, with GST and bill-wise references. Or fill one Excel register and convert that. Free, nothing sent to us.

How to make a Tally import file here

  1. Choose what to send. Your saved documents (pick the business and the dates), or an Excel register filled from our template.
  2. Check the ledger names. Open "Ledger names in your Tally" and type the names your Tally company uses, for example "Sales GST 18%" or "HDFC Bank". They are remembered in this browser.
  3. Press "Make the Tally files". The list shows every voucher found. Then download the ledgers file and the vouchers file.
  4. Back up your Tally data. Before any import, take a backup in TallyPrime. Tally also offers a backup while importing: say Yes.
  5. Import the ledgers first. In TallyPrime, open the company, press Alt+O (Import) › Masters, give the path of the ledgers file and press Enter. Choose what to do with ledgers that already exist.
  6. Then import the vouchers. Alt+O (Import) › Transactions, give the path of the vouchers file and press Enter. Check the Day Book.

What it does for you

Your data stays with you

Everything you type is kept in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us. Your businesses, customers, suppliers and items are shared with the other Nivesh Sahayak document tools through my.niveshsahayak.in, so details you saved while making an invoice or a quotation are already here as suggestions.

Keep a backup. If the browser's data is cleared, saved work in it is gone. Open My data (top of the page) and press Save a backup file now and then. One file holds every document, customer and item, and restores them on any other computer or phone.

Guides

Questions people ask

Is this made by Tally Solutions?

No. Nivesh Sahayak is not part of Tally Solutions. The files follow the XML import format in TallyPrime's own help pages, and you import them yourself.

Which Tally versions does it work with?

TallyPrime imports XML with Alt+O (Import). The files use only tags from TallyPrime's published samples. Test with a backup first, especially on older Tally.ERP 9.

Will it create my customers in Tally?

Yes, the ledgers file creates missing customers (Sundry Debtors) and suppliers (Sundry Creditors) with address, PIN and state. Add their GSTINs in Tally after importing.

Can I import only one month?

Yes. Choose the From and To dates before making the files. Import each period only once, or the vouchers are doubled.

Are stock items sent?

No. Vouchers go in accounting mode (amounts by ledger). Stock quantities stay in your Nivesh Sahayak documents.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The files are made in your browser from the data saved on this device.
